Debater of the year...Iain Gray. Obviously this is a comedy night cause that made me laugh....but not quite as much as the thought of the Edinburgh Council leader being the pick of the local government bunch.

This must be the most stupidest of all awards contests.
In saying that, 99% of them are imbecilic but this one takes the biscuit. The farce of farces.

Murdo Fraser nominated twice. Deary me. If Mundell eh...wins eh...be prepared eh....for a long eh...speech eh!
Disappointed not to see Tommy Sheppard featuring as he has had an excellent first six months as an MP.

I Patrick Harvie doesn't win debater of the year ahead of Gray and Rennie he should just pack it in.

These awards are run by the The Herald who as we all know are an SNP supporting paper but I'm not sure who decides on who wins if it's them or an independent panel.

Sunday Herald came out for Yes, the other 6 days they're firmly in the Labour/No camp.

Agree with this. Deary f'n me... is that the best we could do? Willie Rennie as well - strange and shrill little man.

Would be good to see Gordon Aikman continuing to get recognition.

I like Ruth Davidson - funny thing about the Scottish Tories: they've had a good couple of leaders in her and Annabelle Goldie but the rest of them are charmless no marks.
