Season 1967-68



October, Hibs beat Porto 4-3 on aggregate in the Fairs Cup

November, after losing 4-1 away to Napoli in the Fairs Cup, Hibs staged a remarkable turnaround when they beat the Italians 5-0 at Easter Road, with goals from Duncan, Quinn, Cormack, Stanton and Stein.

Hibs lost 2-1 on aggregated to Leeds United in the Fairs Cup.

April, Hibs ended the league in third place.

May, Hibs undertook a post-season African tour.

Colin Stein was sold to Rangers for £100,000, the first six-figure transfer between Scottish teams.

Shankly resigned as manager but was persuaded to re-consider.

The Napoli game was my very first European Hibs game. I thought they were all going to be like that
