Sad news about Pat Eddery dying at such a relatively young age. Absolute class act and was by far my favourite jockey when I followed racing when younger.

Golden Fleece and El Gran Senor stick out. You always knew your money was safe when Pat came cruising along about 2 out.

RIP Legend.

Bit before my time but the way he has been spoken about by his peers speaks volumes. I'm sure just about every fan of racing has seen him guide Dancing Brave right up the middle at Longchamp to win the Arc.

It's been a sad year for racing with some real legends of the sport, Pat Eddery, Peter O'Sullivan, Kauto Star amongst other, passing away.

Was a halcyon era for horse racing with Lester, Willie Carson, Pat then to be added by Steve Cauthen.

Can remember seeing him at Musselburgh when he and Cauthen were touring the country trying to win the jockey championship.

Absolute class.

In my teenage years always looked to see what he was riding and often made a few quid, some quietish looking Saturday's turned into money no object nights. Not a jockey for the purists but I loved his will to win.

Aye, Eddery made me a good few quid back in the day.

Dancing Brave in the Arc....now that was a ride and a half. Decent horse mind you
