How incredible is this lads story?

16 year old and playing in the Milan 1st team, including a man of the match performance last night. I've watched a couple of videos of him training on Youtube and he looks absolutely unvelievable, he's huge and look about 25 as well.

He's in esteemed company; Buffon made his Parma debut at 17, Casillas made his Champions League debut at 16 and won it just after turning 19 and Bodo Illigner was the youngest World Cup winning keeper in 1990 at 23.

:agree: Caught the last 25 minutes of their 0-0 draw at home to Atalanta last night and he was the only thing standing between Milan and a hiding. Amazing to see a 16 year old keeper at any club let alone one of the largest in the worlds (albeit their actual team is sub-par which makes it even all the harder for him!)

Seemingly at youth level his mum ended up taking his birth certificate alomng to his matches every week as the opposition wouldn't belive he was "in-age", such was his physical development, and kept trying to get him banned :greengrin

Indeed he was. 21 or 22?

That winners medal is a great achievement for him.

There was a good article in the guardian couple of weeks back about him, he signed at 14 the same year his brother was sold to Genoa from Milan and his grandfather coached him and his brother from a young age, his size has favoured him he's a big laddie

Always felt a bit sorry for him. He got chucked in very early because if the incompetence of the other goalies on our books at the time. He made a couple of mistakes and never recovered.

He was on a par with Jamie McDonald but because he was written off by 22 he fell away, whereas McDonald was allowed to dip in and out and go on loan to develop.

Having said that andy made a bit of a howler at Ibrox at the weekend.

My youngest son is only 15 and he too has been advised he needs to start taking age proof to his school rugby games, the fact he is 6' 6.5" at the moment and still growing may have something to do with it!!!!

Watching Sportscene last night couldn't believe what I was seeing from the Alloa keeper. Never realised it was him!
