So, since we were robbed at Ibrox 1-0 in September, we've P13 W12 D1 L0. This includes two league cup wins against top flight teams Dundee Utd and Aberdeen by a combined 5-0.

Obviously we're up against lower calibre opposition than we were in the top flight but this is a historically great run of results, especially considering the season started in August with losing at Dumbarton and being humped 6-2 by Rangers.

Be good if any historians can dig up our best run of results/longest unbeaten streak etc? I certainly cant think of a run like this in the last 20 years or so?

Good times :agree:

I'm sure we won 13 in a row the last time we were down. What I'd also like to know is what is the longest scoring streak by a Hibs striker.

Found it!

In 1959, Joe Baker scored in 10 consecutive games. This run included 3 hat tricks and 4 braces. (The Hibs Miscellany).

17 goals, absolutely phenomenal, how much would joe baker sell for in modern day football

:agree: Ive just checked and youre spot on. 13 straight wins. We also had a run of 22 unbeaten games that season, so we still have a bit to do to beat the 1998 team. The all time record is 24 unbeaten in 1941/2, but that was in the old Southern league wartime thing so probably doesnt count for statto purposes.

(the Hibs miscellany by Bobby Sinnet, never read it before, thanks Santa 2014).

It was only because we had won the league that the run came to an end, we were so far ahead of everyone that year it was unreal. It's very similar this year apart from the Huns.

That really is unbelievable. I'd love Cummings to break the record, he's never going to be as good as Joe but he will never play in as good a team as Joe did. I just think that for the here and now it would be a good thing for the team.

The run actually came to an end with a shock 2-0 defeat away to Clydebank in March, but then we picked it up again winning our last seven games of the season.

Did we not win the league the week before against Hamilton?

:agree: 2-0 on April 2nd, although the 13 game streak had been broken by then.

That's right, but the defeat ended the 22 game unbeaten run I think.
