Season 1954-55



18th October, The first league game played under the lights was against Hearts, Hibs lost 0-2.

2nd March, Bobby Johnstone was the first of the Famous Five to leave Hibs when he signs for Manchester City for £22,000. Bobby’s last goals for Hibs were in a league match against Queen of the South at Easter Road on the 15th January, he scored a hat-trick before the game was abandoned due to heavy show.

More ground improvements were made at Easter Road including the erection of a scoreboard in the corner of the Dunbar End and the East terracing, another change was the removal of the harp badge over the main entrance to the ground, this was not a popular move among many of the supporters.
