Season 1946-47

10th August, Hibs started the re-formed Scottish League with a 9-1 home win against Queen of the South. Jock Weir scored four of the goals.

Eddie Turnbull signed for Hibs.

November, Hibs signed nineteen year old Willie Ormond from Stenhousemuir.

January, Jock Weir was transferred to Blackburn for £10,000; this was the first cross-border five figure transfer.

March, Hibs were involved in two cup semi-finals in seven days, a 3-1 lost to Rangers in the League Cup and a 2-1 win against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.

26th April, Hibs lost 2-1 to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final. Hibs John Cuthbertson opened the scoring in the first minute in front of a crowd of 82,140, George Hamilton equalised for the Dons after 36 minutes, before South African Stan Williams scored the winner on 42 minutes.

Very interesting . Thanks Mo . So if we had kept Jock Weir , there is every chance we would have won the SC .
I wonder how much 10k from 1946 would equate to today .
