I came across a display about the history of world football, and on the first board I saw the attached photo. Can anybody tell me where and when this photo was taken?

It looks a bit like Tynecastle.
I thought that at first but then looked closely at the stand - the one in the photo is definitely newer :)

If the details on the attached link are correct then it is Stamford bridge (https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&u=http://sports.takungpao.com/photo/q/2013/0118/1265498_2.html&prev=search). Man U v QPR, First ever Charity Shield game in 1908.

That's great. Thanks for taking the time to find out.
Afterwards I did a search on the 1908 Charity Shield photos and came across this guy in Sweden who's written up a history of QPR : http://web.comhem.se/norre/qprart/qpr.html

My Hibs supporting nephew had hospitality in the JR 'suite' and I told him he'd be fine as long as he remembered to wipe his feet on the way out
