Season 1935-36

28th September, it was thirteen games into the season before Hibs got their first win, a 3-1 home victory against Kilmarnock. This came only a week after Hibs had lost 8-3 to Hearts.

11th February, after ten and a half years in charge, Bobby Templeton resigns as manager. A reluctant Johnny Halligan took over as caretaker manager. He won three out of his first four games, the loss being a 2-1 away defeat to Dundee.

Hearts loaned Hibs two players, full-back Munro and goalie Waugh (he was later to save two penalties against Kilmarnock).

April, after eleven games in charge, Halligan stepped aside to allow former Hearts manager Willie McCartney to take over as manager. In the two games that remained of the season, Hibs were twice beaten 3-2 by St Bernards, first in the East of Scotland Shield and then in the Rosebery Cup.
