Season 1929-30
Hibs like many other clubs were suffering during the depression. The cost of developing the ground six years earlier meant that they were nearly bankrupt. Many of those who had funded the debenture in 1924 demanded more say in the running of the club, Harry Swan and Wilson Terris joined the board. Swan vowed that “Give me ten years and I’ll make Hibs great”. This ten-year vision was delayed by World War II.
