Season 1925-26
August, Three games into the new season after losing 5-0 away to Celtic and losing 6-4 at home to Partick Thistle, and despite a 8-0 home win against Kilmarnock, Alex Maley resigned as manager.
25th August, veteran defender Bobby Templeton took over as player/manager. (Templeton had signed for Hibs in 1911).
Templeton’s first game in charge was a 9-0 win over St Bernards in the East of Scotland Shield. However, he only won two out of the next fourteen games.
May, Hibs ended up 16th in the League; much of the poor form was down to players moving on, injuries and the lack of a reserve team.
