View Full Version : NHC Motherwell manager's job

Former Arsenal, Barcelona and France striker Thierry Henry has emerged as one of the leading contenders with some bookmakers to replace the sacked Ian Baraclough as Motherwell manager but appears an unlikely candidate given a multi-million pound contract as a Sky television pundit and his role as Arsenal Under-21 coach. (BBC Sport gossip from The Express)

Others in the frame include Terry Butcher and Billy Davies.

There is obviously a huge gap between who the punters are betting on and who will get the job (the Stevie Clarke / Colin calderwood scenario).

Terry butcher? May as well go for the Nick clegg and maurice malpas dream team. The bookies are doing a great job of drumming up some early income.

Is this maybe a case of Bookies sticking Henry in the odds just to get some attention?

Wrong Henry.

It's THIS one who's in for the job.

Intends to make a complete clean sweep of the dressingroom.

My money is on Mixu. Did a good job with Killie and that's what will clinch it for him

If Thierry Henri is interested in the Motherwell job then he must have had a bang on the head. Possibly a £m Sky sports contract for £50k plus sponsored Ford Ka at Motherwell. Craigan will get the job, cheapest option and knows the club

Was he sacked or did he quit last time around?

Resigned I think.

Billy Davies Would be too arrogant to go back to Motherwell, thinks he's the next Sir Alex.

As long as it's not Delia getting the sack at Celtic not too bothered, sure Stubbs will be on their watch-list for the future.

Butcher please. I want to play and beat him. I also would quite like a nasty atmosphere that involves some venom directed towards him in the dugout. Might go dressed as Diego maradona. We need to purge our club of his influence and a game like that would be quite cathartic.

Butcher would do for me, too. But since we're winning the Championship and won't be in the playoffs, I'ĺl settle for gubbing him in the Scottish Cup Final.

Good old mixup.

A moderately abusive and painfully unfunny nickname for a guy who loved Hibs, played a huge part in getting us back in the top league and scored a hat trick in a demolition.of Hearts.

Well done you.

I agree, mixu was the catalyst to us having 2 or 3 good years, made a big impact at Hibs, and done ok as manager with a good record against hearts. Loved the big man leading the attack

Is he staying on as Strachans no 2

He says Strachan has asked him to stay on with the Scotland set up. A younger, more dynamic no.2 needed for the national team I think.

I think he's absolute honking and will be sacked by the start of next season.

Think Motherwell are like Dundee Utd at this moment. A club in decline except they have massively over performed in the last few seasons (apart from last year).

Don't think anyone could save them at the moment.

Yep, me too. I'm actually quite glad, I'd love to get them in the play-offs if he's manager (unless we win the championship of course).

Oh no! It's bad enough seeing him hogging the media on international breaks (even though he is only the assistant!)
It's now back to the regular weekly trumpet blowing of MM.
