23rd March, Bobby Reid scored Hibs 1,000th league goal in a 2-1 win over Aberdeen at Pittrodrie.
16 April, after beating Morton, Rangers, Queen’s Park and St Mirren on the way to the Scottish Cup Final, Hibs drew with Celtic 0-0 at Ibrox, Smith missed the chance to win the game late on with only the keeper to beat but he squandered his opportunity. Hibs lost the replay a few days later again at Ibrox, 4-1.
35,000 turned up for the game against Rangers, 56,000 against Queen’s Park, 30,000 against St Mirren, 50,000 in the Final and 40,000 in the replay.
