As were on the subject of Dom's miss in the Livi game, which is your favourite open goal miss.

Always chuckle at van Vossens miss for that team formerly known as Rangers.

Billy Bremner a yard out v Brazil in the 74 WC was a costly ****er. Never a sitter as such IMO, ball basically hit off him. It was close in right enough but he had no time to react.

I don't remember too many Hibs ones as bad as today's.

Didier Agathe's against Hearts was recently mentioned.

Steven Fletcher used to contort himself to get his left foot on things (a bit like he tried in the Georgia game) and I remember him making a twat of himself once or twice.

Paco Luna's header was far from a sitter but it was one of our more memorable misses.

I remember that being said at the time. A lot.
His effort lacked conviction as far as I recall.

Although, there have been worse. This one has lived with me longest though.

Ivan sproule had a shocker in a league cup game after beating 3 or 4 players then firing well wide, didn't he? I think we were 4 or 5 up at the time anyway.

Fletcher against Barcelona was another hibs miss, that was maybe a tad harder from what I remember though.

Joe Harper...don't remember who it was against but shooting down the slope at ER he had pretty much an open goal and managed to kick it out for a throw in

One against the Huns in particular was astonishing. I think we went behind 60secs later.

I remember De Graaf's miss against rangers. First game when we opened the new East. Or was that a superb goal line clearance by Bougherra is what I remember some folk saying?

Other notable ones that I can think of from the top of my head are Iwelumo on his Scotland debut against Norway. Fernando Torres against Man Utd at Old Trafford. Jesus Navas last week at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Did Tam McManus miss a one v one sitter against hearts? The shot was that bad, it went out for a throw rather than a goal kick.

I was right behind that goal and it was definitely a case of the ball rebounding to him too quickly to allow him to set himself.

Hibs missed a hatful of chances against Leeds in 1973/74 both home and away. Not least of them was Pat Stanton's penalty that hit the base of the post and sealed our defeat. We should have put them out.

Not in the 'sitter' category perhaps, but yon mind boggling free kick taken by our own Roberto Carlos, Pa Kujabi, is a spectacular miss all the same and surely merits inclusion.
Even now I shudder and laugh about it in equal measure.

Remember that. Did a long run up and approached the ball like Roberto Carlos. Never seen a whole stadium laugh like that when he took the shot and it was closer to the corner flag than the net.
