View Full Version : Scott Robertson back in scotland

Scott Robertson is back in Scotland after an unhappy short spell in Romania and is currently training with Raith Rovers.

Perhaps in hindsight he should have accepted Hibs offer. Can't see Raith offering anything better.

No reports on why things did not work out for him in Romania.

From what I've heard if you don't cut it you don't even get your basic wage in some of these countries. You just get left to rot/train your way back in. Hopefully for him he's able to fire right in and play again and not spend weeks/months getting back to fitness.

I did for a while wish we had kept Robertson, he was an important player in that midfield last season and wondered what a second season under Stubbs would have done to him, but nevertheless our midfield looks improved so I trust the judgement.

I'd take him back. Let Stanton and Handling go and let Martin go out on loan.

You cant let Stanton and handling go - they are on contracts which would have to be paid off. Also Handling is injured. Injured whilst playing for Hibs. You dont release players in those circumstances. We have no need for Robertson in our squad. He wouldnt make it on the bench at the moment.

I wouldn't have him back.

He was a "duck" player. If you want something that can swim then you get a fish, if you want something that can fly then you get a bird. If you want something that can do both, but neither really well then you get a duck.

He can't defend like Marvin Bartley. He can't attack like Henderson, McGeoch or McGinn.

So it's a no from me, not that he was awful by any manner of means, just that I think we now have better.

They don't have to be paid off if you offer them to other clubs and they're happy to go. Which at this stage in there career and playing little football I'd imagine if a full time team came in for them they would go. Although I accept Handling is a different story at this exact point in time.

Apart from the fact that some ducks have migratory flights of several thousand miles, this making them top "birds" in your analogy, I do tend to agree.

A bit of a "jack of all trades, master of none " player.

Tried a leg though, so wish him well

Scott was one of the higher paid players at the club and was offered half the money to stay with us to be a back up player, he knocked it back. He was an OK players, nothing more and Stubbs knew he needed better than him, kept only for the bench if he'd stayed.

p.s. I believe Scott liked a special chow mein as it gives a variety of meat and fish.

Let me get this straight, if Scott Robertson is the same density as a duck, then he can float on water. Wood also floats on water, but wood also burns.....what burns as well as wood you might ask; witches, of course. Therefore, before Stubbs considers taking him back we really should test to see if he burns and is therefore, a witch. We wouldn't want a witch disrupting our dressingroom.
