And good to see Hibs getting praise -

"We can't fault the way they've gone about it. Obviously Jamie was not on a contract so they had no obligation to us, but they've been very understanding and professional, and they've made a small payment to us as a token of goodwill, which is very much appreciated.

Welcome to Hibs, Jamie. You might want to read up on another young lad that Hibs plucked from obscurity. Think his name was Ivan Spoule. He did ok :greengrin

Interesting that he talks about being in the first team. I thought the official site may mention that he will start out by playing in the development squad.

Welcome to Hibs Jamie.

Stourbridge seem genuinely pleased for him which is nice. Its a bit out of left field this one, I have no idea what quality the Evo Stik league is, but he wouldn't be the first really good player to rise out of English 'non league' football having gone unnoticed into his 20s ...... lets hope that's what we have got :greengrin

All I know is that the team he was playing for last year were in the 11th tier of English football, while Stourbridge are in the 7th tier (same division as Salford FC, owned by the "class of '92") The club that Jamie Vardy spent 3 years at before making a move to Halifax are in the 8th tier of English football (Stocksbridge Park Steels)

I really like signings of this nature. Its a shot to nothing & its interesting that many of the non league players to go on to greater things have been strikers, Austin/Vardy/Wright. Maybe the ability to score goals bridges the gulf more easily. Jamie's been around the club for a while so I'm sure AS & his staff must have seen some raw talent. Anyway, welcome to Hibs Jamie!

Interesting that he's been given a 3 year contract. Our coaching staff have obviously been very impressed with him.

No pressure, but a hat trick in your debut will be very welcome.

At the start of this summer he signed for Stourbridge in the Northern Premier League and after scoring four in five pre-season games was spotted in action by John Morris, an agent who happened to represent Stubbs, and passed on what he had seen.

'John had no financial incentive but he made the representation on behalf of Jamie,' said Craig. 'He wanted to do it because he thought here was a kid who deserved a chance.'

Morris also represents Jamie Vardy, having signed him up when he was playing for Halifax in non-league, and was struck by similarities in their playing styles as well as their back-stories.

If he comes in and gives absolutely everything he has and proves a point then the fans are going to love him with his backstory of being signed from Stourbridge.

Not been a player in some time that I'd love to see do well as much as Insall.

I've actually seen the lad play, as a trialist for the Development side in a pre season friendly against Brentford. His stature reminds me of Jimmy O'Rourke's so if he's half as good ........... :greengrin

Good player IMO, played on the shoulder of the last man, looks for and finds spaces, communicates well with his team mates and ain't afraid to have a shot at goal if the opportunity arises. Yes he's raw and has a lot to learn but the early signs seem good :agree:

Good to hear - and great to see we are prepared to give someone a chance - We could do with a new O'Rourke...[emoji108]
