Jesus, Maybury, Nelson, McGivern, Haynes......What a horrific team going into that massive game.....
If we'd had Jesus at right back it might have turned out a bit better!
edit or maybe in goals because as we all know...... Jesus saves!

Just listened to McGregor's interview on Hibs TV. Comes over a grounded , humble, good guy and he seems absolutely over the moon to have signed for this club, the one he supported. Not a conventional football upbringing, but one that shows his hard work and commitment. It struck me that he is sitting giving the interview that most of us would have dreamt off - talking about signing for the club he loves.
I wish him all the best!

Amazing how much things have changed since we got relegated. The team that day was :-
Williams,
Maybury, Nelson McGivern Stevenson,
Craig Robertson Stanton
Heffernan (Tudur Jones - 83' )
Haynes (Harris - 8' ) Cummings
Substitutes
Harris (Thomson - 68' ) Cairney, Collins, Tudur Jones, Murdoch, Forster, Thomson
Definitely Stubbs team now
It's when you are reminded / see that this was the Hibs team that day, with the benefit of hindsight it was an absolutely awful team. One or two exceptions of course, but as a team just awful.
Throw in the fact it was "led" by Butcher & Malpas, and it's not really a huge surprise Hibs ended up being relegated.
If only they could have held out for another minute or so against Hamilton and stayed up. LD could then have sacked Butcher & brought in Stubbs and the squad could have been re-built from within the Premiership. If only.

If only he had put Collins on instead of the Welsh lamppost. Given us an out ball.
Though I'll never understand why he recalled Haynes.

Me neither mate. Total clown caused huge damage to this club.

Can't argue with that.
But it has to be pointed out that whilst it appears that we unanimously agree that the "group" of players above are a shower of utter Tom Kite, he only actually brought one of them to the club. And he only managed 8 minutes.
He could only urinate with the appendage he had been provided with (or words to that effect). He wasn't given much to work with, but still managed to c**k it up.
*shudders*
I think I'm going to re-think any criticism I might have made of Stubbs lately…...

He was a winger/striker on loan from (I think) Notts County. He got injured early on in the second leg and went off in the first half.
I think he may have been suspended for a really stupid red card over the first leg?

Delighted with this signing. Now feel as has good options and can change the team during games to adapt to the opposition. Really excited for the season once the likes of keatings and fared are fit and McGinn and mcgeoch are match fit. Hopefully we will see teams killed off in games. Plus a wee run in the cups looks are much better bet. Well done everybody at er.

Soon as he went down INJURED there was only one outcome. Wanted off and he could not wait to get out of there.

That sounds like a fairly accurate summary of his time at Hibs.
Top marks to whoever did that review. :aok:

Me and Scoops sat beside his missus one game. I had to act as a barricade, Scoops was foaming at the mouth so he was. The rabid pervert. Tsk.

Not quite how I recall it Casanova!!!!
I gave you until half time or I said we would swap seats, I think you had moved in after 5 minutes.
Mind you I was glad, the time she asked you if it was a goal if the ball crossed the line whilst in the air was amusing. I wished I had that conversation taped for the masses on hibs.net as you tried to explain the rules.
Even funnier was when you were attempting to cuddle in (to her not me) and I jumped up and shouted "the ball's in the air" in injury time. She jumped about six feet IIRC.

I remember thinking that he had quite a promising debut and that he'd go on to do well for us.
Looked reasonably quick, had a decent touch and came away with a few nice tricks and flicks. Watmore had looked half-decent too.
Then he settled down to our level and was utterly mediocre at best.
Where is he now? Was his time at Hibs a blip or just another stepping stone in a career on it's way down?
I wonder how he looks back on his time playing at Hibs under Butcher that saw us plummet like a stone and get relegated?

Positive when there's something to be positive about. And McGregor certainly is a positive signing.

West coast rags going on about DM double-crossing Sevco, and about hypocrisy at Hibs ...
Scott Allan
1. First team player
2. Wanted and valued by own club
3. Worth money, with decent market value
4. Under contract
5. Key player needed for promotion push
6. Sevco make derisory offer, encourage transfer request
7. Player signs for Celtic, Hibs get good deal.
Darren McGregor
1. Squad member
2. Not wanted or valued by club
3. Not worth any money
4. Contract terminated to save own club money
5. Club didn't care where he went, as long as was off the books
6. Player signs for boyhood heroes, Hibs get good deal.
Media can try dress these up anyway they like, but fact is Sevco have made a balls up in BOTH situations. Complete amateurs :na na:

Hahahahahaha!!! "The ball's in the air!!" That was tremendous.
Ah, yes, trying to explain that to her was nigh on impossible.
