Good bit of business getting him signed on a 3 year deal as well. A lot of depth in midfield, now for 1 or 2 in defence and we can really kick on and have a good season.

Posted this on other thread - but my thoughts..

He showed last season he is a quality player. Like others sometimes over shadowed by Allan wanting to be the main man. He is not injury prone and still 22 meaning he will get better.

He has a good blend of passing quality and can dribble - plus he gets stuck in.

The other good news is that he has been training with Celtic and not currently injured - though may lack full match practice.

Added bonus is that he knows the majority of players at the club too so should settle quickly and even knows how Henderson plays.

I should also point out that we have signed a very talented footballer from the Scottish Champions on a 3 year deal which must say something about where we are as a club. I'm sure it would have been a wrench to leave Celtic and I'd be staggered if there weren't other clubs looking at him.

Well done everyone connected at Hibs

I always thought he would sign but those that said he had signed remain wrong.

Anyway, doesn't really matter now, hopefully he'll thrive in this team, I think Allan not being here might benefit him.

Really pleased about this signing and the way it was done. Have also listened on Hibs TV about what he really said about Rangers and money and once again the West Coast press have really distorted his words. I like Stubbsy and I think his heart is in the right place. I hope that he realises very quickly we do need a proper goalkeeper, another defender and a proven goalscorer.

We have a really strong midfield and we have two wingers in boyle and carmichael, we really need to use this as a platform to kick on and do well now. Once Keatings and Alagui are back we look strong up top too.

A few people on here will be eating their words...never in doubt in my mind with the people who had said he had signed

I dont want to piss on anyone's chips but, given the media were saying last week that he was in discussions, it wasn't the biggest punt ever to claim he had signed (when actually he hadn't). We've had folk claim he had signed and was being announced just about every single day since Allan signed for them. FFS, folk were definitively stating that it was going to be a two year contract a couple of hours ago.

Without sounding like a scoopyboy fan club, yet again, Scoops called it spot on. Didn't claim that he had signed when he hadn't, said that Hibs wanted four years, that McGeouch wanted two and they'd probably end up splitting the difference but that he would very likely sign in the end. Three out of three is a fairly good strike rate.

This is a cracking signing, if he stays injury free he could really flourish this season.

Now to find the right formation for that midfield.

capitals_finest
21-08-2015, 08:12 PM
I am lifted by this signing, strangely enough I think both Hibs and Celtic have done well with the deals between the clubs over the last week or so. Celtic have gained a top quality player ready to go with the prospect of a much more developed henderson in a years time. While we have moved on an unhappy player (swerving our rivals) for a bit of money, picked up a loan signing with a lot of potential and secured a talented young Dylan who still needs a bit of work but often showed more talent than Allan at times. Good move for Dylan as I couldn't see him getting a fair chance at Celtic after a bit of a dip in his form towards the end of his time with us. I really believe AS and his team can not only get the best out of players but really develop them if they have the right attitude. A good lengthy term for Dylan is just the ticket to settle the guy and hopefully turn him into another top quality player.

Happy to see this concluded, a 3 yr deal puts the onus on the player to produce, & given Hibs confidence in him I'd be looking for a reaction from the player.
I can't help but thinking DM thinks he's peaked coming from the smellies & found it tough not being in their plans.
If the Allan deal didn't happen he wouldn't be our player.
He has my full backing in everything he does as a Hibs player & an injury free DM is an essential asset to hopefully a championship winning team.
Welcome to Hibs Dylan 👍

I defo got it wrong with length of contract. I just post the info I got from couple of players. I think they knew he was signing that was never a doubt but didn't think it would be as long as 3 years.

Hibs done superb to get a deal that long! As for Scoops he's always on the ball.

I am happy as he is a really good player and you can't have enough of them. But I'm not sure if he was a priority, would of preferred a striker or a defender. If this doesn't influence that then I'm happy.

Our midfield is looking very strong however

We are perhaps still a bit light out wide as if one of boule or carmichael gets injured were screwed.

Welcome back Dylan .Based on Morton game we need someone in midfield to take control and drive forward Hopefully we can get players now in positions where they are playing their natural game and we will see Mcginn develop and get better and Henderson clearly has a big future in the game and hopefully we are the launching pad for him to express himself
Think we now have basis of a very good midfield
