I think he'll be announced as a seperate deal.

Not sure why we'd do it that way but I'd be very surprised if he doesn't come.

I wonder if there's maybe some monetary issues with DM if he's having to take a pay cut to come to Hibs. Perhaps looking for a pay off or maybe Celtic to pay part of his wages for what would have been the remainders of his contract similar to the Riordan deal.

Pure speculation on my part though and probably not the right thread for it.

why?

They gave him the additional year for a reason, to use him as a bargaining tool or to get money for him.

The Hibs statement talks about the Allan and Henderson deal as if that is the totality of the deal.

So, a little concern that it isn't part of this and may therefore be more complicated.

If we are having to pay for him or something separately then the Allan deal isn't quite as good as it may have seemed.

that's my take on it

My take on it is that a player who has signed for the club on a permanent deal deserves his own day and his own audience - I'm confident DM is a Hibs player.

If his pay-off from Celtic is to be classed as a redundancy payment and tax-free it will have to be seen as completely separate from any transfer business the Clubs are conducting.

I don't think Hibs would have agreed to the deal without being certain McGeough was signing.

And if they did the fee would be bigger than 275k.

My thoughts too, there was talk of Hibs wanting a 4 year deal and Dylan only wanting 2, plus he'll be cutting his wages by half to come here, so he'll be looking for compensation from either Celtic or a signing on fee from us to make up the difference.

Welcome to Hibernian Hendo!! Great young talent who Stubbs really rates. Fantastic to see another young Scottish lad getting the chance to flourish, and I have a real good feeling about this one! Him, Fyvie, McGinn, McGeouch. Add in Bartley, Carmichael, Boyle, Harris and Stanton. Also hope to see Martin continue to progress. Stubbs certainly has options. What a difference in attitude our club has developed compared to previous years.

Welcome to Hibs, Liam. Happy with this signing as I think he'll be a big player for us this season.

If we can get McGeouch on a permanent deal as well the club will have done really well out of the Allan situation and i'd be confident if we added a versatile defender that we'll win the league.

I agree, Dylan deserves his own day...convinced he is signed for Hibs along with Liam but Hibs will announce it when the time is right.

Welcome to Hibs Liam, cannot wait to see you in action.

Can he hit a ball hard and on target from outside the box? We severely lack midfielders that does that regularly.

excited about this signing :flag:

DM isn't being made redundant by Celtic, so that won't be the issue.

Liam Henderson could be a big player for Hibs this season. He might only be 19 but has played and scored goals for Celtc in the Premier League, set up the 3rd goal in their 3-3 draw against Inter Milan in the Europa League and also impressed in Norway on a short loan deal. Looking forward to seeing this lad in a Hibs top this season.
