Good to know the Yams are keeping their traditions alive.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but isn't this an individual stealing from Hearts, not Hearts stealing from individuals (for a change)?

How many charities do they want to steal from? This seems to be all they do. Vile club.

Can't we keep the discussions to the game of football?

Establishment teams like Hearts & Rangers can do almost anything & they'll survive as has been proved over the past few years. Why? Because they are establishment teams, it's what they represent.
Now if you think I'm havering, just look at the facts! Murray & aw his cronies should be in the jail for what went on at rangers & that's not even starting with the yams.
How many have actually gone down? If it were Celtic & Hibs do you honestly think there would be no prosecutions, no people in jail the now.
Just for a moment contemplate what they've got away with.

Hertz steal from charities, a Hertz fan steals from a Hertz charity.

Didn't realise you could be sent to jail for losing £50million of your own money at a football club. This is becoming a police state.

I don't think it was his own money.
The share issue was under-written by Murray International, which was part owned by the Bank of Scotland , which in turn became part owned by you and me.

I suspect I owned a much larger share of it than you do:greengrin.
Its a shame that money that would have been spent on kids activities is now probably all gone and never to be seen again.
No doubt the dark, shadowy figures in the background will remain untouched. If they ever existed.
Not nice reading.

I thought they were also quite good in fantasy world class stadium design and turning the tides of global conflict.

Establishment clubs?
This person has been prosecuted. As for Celtic being non-establishment, What about the former cabinet member who was prominent in their board. Or the fact our own owner has a title. Maybe you could define what that often bandied about term means.

Disgusting club, always have been always will be. They have gotten away with absolute murder and fine well they know it.
Shameless doesn't even begin to sum up that grotty, thieving, vile little club.

What has the club actually done this time then?
I hate to say it but they seem better run now and with Budge in charge there and Dempster in charge at Hibs we seem to be moving away from the hatred that has dominated the past few years.

I agree. To call Hearts a "disgusting club" is going too far. Maybe some of their supporters are disgusting. I would only say that the ones I know are ok and enjoy their football, especially now that their club is back on its feet.
They give me a hard time at parties but it's swings and roundabouts. I used to lord it over them - about fifty million years ago!

Yup. As far as I can make out from the story, Hearts as a club aren't involved in any wrongdoing at all.
The book-keeper of the independent charity trust through which Hearts channel funds to "a number of different programmes designed to offer sporting, health and educational activities for local people" has been convicted of embezzling £53,000 from the charity which she says she used to pay off debts she owed to some allegedly threatening and dangerous people.
I know a number of Hearts supporters, and while they never fail to give me a hard time about the way Hibs have been the past ten years or so (and why shouldn't they - I'd do the same if positions were reversed) NONE of them are 'vile' or 'disgusting' or 'charity thieves'.
Most of them are much pleasanter company than some Hibs supporters I've encountered ...
... some of whom post regularly on this forum.

I despise hearts even more than rangers but as others have said, there is nothing wrong with how they are being run now. More of us Hibbies need to realise they are actually challenging for 2nd in the SPFL and as our local rivals we need to rise to the challenge. I hate to see that lot doing so well and I really wish our fans would get their ***** into gear and get along to support the team instead of whinging about poppy thieves and all that stuff on here.

Do you think? If anything, I would say their attitude has hardened towards us as the club who's supporters apparently wanted them dead.
The psychological term escapes me but they are trying to make out that as a collective we actively tried to kill them in order to give their situation some gravity and elevate their status. Their direct comparisons to the Mercer situation are evidence of this.
Some might say that it's just Internet loons that are doing this but this type of thing carries more weight than you might think.
I would love to see a modern, mature relationship between Hibs and Hearts but it won't happen until there is an initiative that benefits the city as a whole and our leaders have something more in common than the fact that they are both females.
