No real arguments as it was a poor tackle.

Griffiths on the deck hurt, despite getting up and taking it.

Wouldn't have been great for County but surely it's also a red card? Pretty clear scoring chance denied.

The inconsistency from refs is so frustrating.

That was my thought too.

If that happens 65 minutes into a game in January it's a red. 4 minutes into the opening day fixture and the ref shows 'common sense'.

Gordon should have been sent off there.

How biased is Andy Wakker!?

I actually find myself agreeing with him, as much as that sticks in the throat. He knocked the ball away from goal plus there were defenders in behind Gordon .

If Gordon hadn't brought him down the boy would have scored.

Definitely a red for me.

It's a tough call but there's an argument it's a clear scoring chance. The fact he's running away from goal is irrelevant - he's reaching the ball with a chance to hit the target before Van Dijk gets to the line IMO.

Definitely a matter of interpretation though

If it happened up the other end of the pitch, it would've been a red card

He might, he might not have. He made it a tight angle by knocking it so far away to the side and was still outside the box, running at pace and had to get it past van Dijk who was between the penalty spot and 6 yard line...

Fair enough, I reckon he would have scored. He didn't need to get it past Van Dijk as he was never reaching the ball if it was on target.

Either way it's a goal scoring opportunity so it's a red.

Penalty spot and 18 yard line more like.

Wouldnt be a red if the law was denying an "unmissable goal scoring opportunity". But a clear chance? It definitely was

Don't think Collum is biased mind, he is just consistently inconsistent

I don't care enough to argue in all honesty - it's interpretive and I disagree with you :greengrin

I wish your outcome had happened regardless of whether I agree with it or not :greengrin

Some strange interpretations of the rule. If a defender denied a one on one with a goalkeeper (far better equipped to stop a goal than anyone) the player committing the foul goes - but a guy facing an open goal isn't being denied a goal scoring opportunity because a defender might be able to cover the line?

Irvine is a decent player anyway, but I don't think the term 'clear goal scoring opportunity' should be interpreted depending on the ability of the player in question to convert it.

Gordon should have walked.

Any other keeper in the league would have been rightly sent off there.

Considering County are playing the most difficult fixture in Scottish football dont think they have done too badly to be honest.

McIntyre seems to have done a decent job with them.
