Good news!!

He has potential to be a really good player and one we could make a bit of money on further down the line.

In the short term hopefully he will contribute and add quality to the midfield.

Now if we can just bring in Dylan and a defender.

This could be an even greater coup than bringing Scott Allan to the club. This young lad has bags of potential and I for one think this is a really significant signing. Being able to attract some of the players we have, and we're not even in the top flight, is testimant to our management

Four year deal is exactly what we needed for such a great young talent. Very positive news, Stubbs is going to have to make a lot of decisions now regarding team line up. Wouldn't surprise me to see Stanton and Harris head out either on loan or permanently before the end of the window.

Good signing, but I must admit I know very little about him.

For those that have seen him play how does he compare with Sam Stanton, who is off a similar age. McGinn has played much more games for the first team and for the Scotland u21s, so maybe that tells us he is a better player than Sam.

"I like they way hibs have went about this, not saying anything on it til it was a done deal subject to medical, quite respectful to our board and our fans. Maybe if Sevco had went about the whole Scott Allan situation in the same way it might have worked out differently instead of the 'we want him so we're having him' attitude. Twos up the ****s anyway.

As for John McGinn, hope he goes on to have a decent career, whether he rediscovers his early promise at hibs is debatable but the boys done us a turn last few year (last season maybe not so much) so best of luck to him."

"Welcome to Hibs, John. Don't worry, we've hidden all the spears at East Mains ;-)"

This is a good example for certain other Clubs on how to do business. Hibs contacted St Mirren privately and did all negotiations behind closed doors, then came to an agreement on a Development Fee, without blabbing their intentions to the press.
