Anyone think we now have a manager with an exceptionally good eye for a player? Obviously this season's are yet to be judged but in terms of reliability Stubbs' signings almost all did the business last season. Considering we've had managers with a woeful track record for signings (Collins, Calderwood for example) we're in pretty good hands right now.

Last season for example:
Gray - Best right back since Whittaker.
El Alagui - Impressed in what little we've seen against him. Scored 2 against Hearts.
Allan - :not worth
Oxley - Solid keeper, which is more than can be said about some in the last ten years.
Fontaine - Best centre back since Jones.
McGeouch - Second only to Allan in our midfield, arguably better than Allan until he was injured.
Sinclair - Didn't really do anything, one of the few flops.
Malonga - Skillful, goalscoring striker.
Kennedy - Put in some decent performances but didn't get a lot of game time.
Boyle - Vertasile, fast player who performed in some important games for us.
Dja Djedje - Inconsistent but made some vital contributions (last minute winner against Livi comes to mind).
Cerny - Never played.
Watson - Solid cover for Gray.
Fyvie - Another excellent midfield signing.

I agree he definitely has a knack of finding a player to suit the current needs of the team. We are judging these players at a lower level than we've been used to but we cannot forget it is quite a coup to be able to attract good players to the Championship, which makes me excited to see what standard we can bring in when we inevitably return to the Premiership.

Shows what can be done if you sign the right manager ,and back room team ,and reshape the club from the bottom up .Stubbs and everyone connected to the Club deserves success this year by winning promotion .
Am not going to say anything further about Petrie it's all been said and no one can be in any doubt that it's Leeann running the show ,the difference she has made in a year is staggering when you consider the mess she inherited.
Onwards and upwards and another few quality signings and our injured players Back should give us perfect platform to build from

Stubbsy works very closely with Graeme Mathie (Head of Recruitment) who does a terrific job. We are lucky to have him.

He's getting away from signing anybody just for the sake of it.

There's a good vibe about the place at the moment. The feel good factor.

A good manager ditches duds early too. Whilst Sinclair and Kennedy weren't exactly duds, when they weren't doing what he wanted them to do he got shot of them early, freeing up wages for those who could make a contribution.

Important to remember that these players have yet to be tested at the highest level though.

It is a very encouraging record early on though, especially when you look at the transfer records of the previous few managers.

While it's a bit tougher to compare as Fontaine is playing in the Championship, from what I've seen I'd have him over Rob Jones.

Still needs to lift a cup mind :)

More than happy to trust AS and his team to bring in the right player.

Hopefully Marvin will allow our more forward thinking MF players to push on.

Team is taking shape.

Hopefully another couple of signings will see us in good stead for the season ahead!

I agree. I just hope fans start turning up this season. The club and team deserve it.
