Happy with this. Good experienced keeper to push Ox. Will be able to come in at any point in the season and do well. Very sensible signing in my opinion.

Good, that's the goalkeeper situation sorted. Some centre mids and backup defenders now please!

Yes he was if I remember correctly.

Dean Brill was the keeper from ICT Butcher wanted.

He was only 1 behind Oxley last season... That's decent. :greengrin

Welcome aboard Antonio

:agree:

The pieces seem to be falling into place. He fits the profile of the kind of back up we need.

Welcome to Hibs Antonio. Should provide good competition and back up to Oxley.

Now to get the midfield sorted.

Yep everyone thought it would be Reguero we would look at but the rumour was Butcher wanted Brill.

Anyway good signing, very able back up.

Welcome, Antonio. Tried and tested backup/competition, much like we had during the latter half of last season, good to see.

Cracking keeper and can see him taking the No 1 jersey. Ox will learn alot from him really looking forward to the new season just a couple more midfielders and cover for the back 4 would be nice.

What's all this backup talk? I can see him taking the No 1 spot in no time.

People said that about Cerny, including me. It is very difficult for a goal keeper who is not in the team to win his place in the team. Oxley only missed a game and a half last season I think. There is less scope to come in due to injuries and suspensions.

Stubbs has stated that Oxley was his #1 target for the keeper position. I would imagine he will start the season in possession of the first team starting spot.

Definitely back-up. Was good at ICT when he got a run in the team but did not dislodge Samson or Brown at Killie & County and they are both very ordinary goalkeepers...

Shots on target is impeccable though.

He's certainly better than that total nugget Brown!

It's very important to have at least one decent, and experienced, goalkeeper in the squad in the event of injury to Oxley (hopefully not of course, but it happens).

Welcome to HFC Antonio.

I doubt that. He has signed for one year while Ox has signed for two.....

Sounds like he's been signed and picked over others such as Studer because of his experience as Stubbs didn't want two young keepers

What gets me is why are we signing a player who couldn't make it at Real madrid....wheres the ambition Stubbs? ........Butcher in

Reguero was in Spain squad for FIFPro Cup ( a European competition for players without clubs ) announced at the end of June so would probably been snapped up by another club ( lots of scouts watch the tournament , don`t know if we send anyone ) if we hadn`t signed him first .
