FOOTBALL FANS IN TRAINING @ HTCOver 170 men from across the UK took to the pitch at the Hibernian Training Centre this past weekend for the annual Football Fans in Training Tournament.
17 teams took part in the 7 a-side event which celebrates the success of the men who have all taken part in the hugely successful Football Fans in Training healthy lifestyle programme over the past season.
Our acclaimed FFiT programme has been adopted across the UK, and for the first time, we welcomed visiting teams from both Southampton and Swindon Town. After group matches, and the knock out stages, the final was an evenly contested match between Hamilton Accies and Swindon Reds, finishing 0-0. Swindon went on to win on penalty kicks.
The event concluded with presentation of participation medals to all and the trophy, followed by a FFiT-friendly buffet. Many thanks to all our Healthy Hibees who assisted at the event as volunteers and referees and our 2015 FFiT graduates who took part and narrowly missed out on qualification, as well as to Hibernian FC first team players who took time out during their training sessions to show their support for the players.
