Bad Karaoke at that.

Reading Chris Evans on Twitter this morning ( who I do quite like) saying that the sign of a good Glasto headliner is everyone talking about it. What a load of nonsense. The sign of a good headliner is a great headlining act. Not some kareoke show

Watched it without knowing much about him or his music. Didn't enjoy it and to be fair the Kanye fan in the house didn't 't either. Not sure if that was a performance or a declaration of war but it wasn't entertaining and he didn't really try and involve the audience. So strange choice for him. People will talk and argue. As Elvis C once noted today's news is tomorrow's fish and chip papers.

Badly singing along to a pre recorded backing track.

I think you’re talking about pharell? Because there was about two minutes in an hour and a half of kanye singing.

Failing that, your point is essentially, that all rap performances are karaoke?

I don't get your point about pharell I've never mentioned him.

My point was lyrically it was a pretty poor show just him for he majority of it you couldnt make out a lot of it. He rarely really engaged the crowd (cherry picker aside) it was all about him. I've seen some pretty good rap performances over the years and this was not one.

As for the second part, I certainly didn't stay the same when i watched Jay Z, Eminem or even the Beastie Boys all live so let's put that Godsahibby doesn't like or appreciate rape tarnishing brush away!!

It means that every festival is interchangeable. You get an old band making a comeback, a 70's band, etc.

As for Kanye......

The Guardian had a poll of 1000 Glastonbury goers asking who they voted for in the General Election. 74% Tory. Add that it's the second most expensive music festival in the world and you can see its game over for this dinosaur. No 2 son is off to Budapest this summer for a music festival along with his mates.

And Scotland's top festival is a corporate lager commercial. Rock and roll.

Hardly 'game over for this dinosaur', Glastonbury will be going for years. Plenty of music festivals around but only one Glastonbury. What we see on the tele doesn't come close to showing what goes on there.

Didn't manage to get tickets for this year and absolutely gutted about it.

I love Kanye, if I had his money I'd be every bit as much a dickhead as he is. Plus his last two albums were ace.

If, as Kevin Bridges says, Danny Dyer is the "prick's prick" (a good call to be fair), he must only be the UK title holder. The narcissistic talent vacuum that is Kanye West must surely be the international winner.

Complete and utter cock of a man who could only hold a tune if he took one out a packet and kept it in his hand when he had a sore throat!

Thats my first time of listening to him, before this i wouldnt know any of his "tunes" :faf: if one smacked me on the nose.

His version of Bohemian Rhapsody should immediately have him arrested for crimes against music, that was horrific and in my opinion showed quite clearly that the man cannot sing live.

Quite why he's made a fortune is beyond me.

Worst thing I can say abut him is that he and his recorded music are as dull as dishwater. I like some Hip-Hop and can't stand other bits but for all his words he fails to say anything of interest, nothing with any controversy about it and seems to stand for nothing other the most superficial aspects of modern living.

A bore.

Glastonbury and Kanye deserve each other. Hope he plays there every year from now on.

Nope - and have no intention of ever going.

Have been to and worked at other outdoor festivals.

Watching bands/hearing music in that type of environment just isn't my thing.

Each to there own I suppose.

EG - I'm a huge Who fan but thought they were awful the other night and as for the crowd, meh.

Glastonbury is a different environment from any other festival...certainly there is nothing to compare in Scotland...it's like entering another world for 3 days.. quite surreal...many many wonderful parts...and there are loads of places to enjoy music away from the big stages...it's crazy and wonderful all at the same time....

5 days [emoji6]

Other than that, I agree completely. Indeed, it's possible to do the whole experience without doing any live music at all.

I thought he was excellent. Yeezus is one of the most creative Hip Hop albums in years, as is Pusha T's "My Name is My Name" which was produced by Kanye. He was far more entertaining than Lionel Ritchie.

Nope, there are flushing toilets up by the farmhouse and Greenpeace put on showers each year - you can leave them a donation though.

The local CND also put on free property storage facilities to keep your stuff safe - it's not a cheap festival anymore but you get a lot more for your money than anywhere else. Soon as you walk in the gate you get a free programme, lanyard and tote bag as well as binbags or loo rolls if you need them - TITP would charge a lot for all that.

TBF, the debate seems to be split along age lines.

Me, and those around me, can't bear the guy. My boys, especially the youngest, think his shows are incredible.

It would be a sad old world, musically, if our kids all liked the same things we did. Without that, we wouldn't have had (amongst others) jazz, rock&roll, psychedelia, punk, hip-hop and rap.

:aok: That's certainly what puts me off going back to TITP in a hurry - hungover and not able to wash properly etc. That and the fact the lineups generally don't appeal to me like they could 10 years ago.

Glasto sounds interesting though.

Glastonbury is like a travel in SE Asia, compared to a weekend in Magaluf of TITP....completely different experience for your senses.... both have their own great bits...quite quite different though...enjoy!

A week before T in the Park and the Radio 1 stage is not built yet, and the food and merchandise stands still have to be started.

I was on site this morning and if the weather breaks and they get rain then I can't see it being ready in time.
