I'll be there as well, and will be walking out as soon as I'm in the stadium so I can pay to get back in!

Great news- thought he might get 3 years to be honest but 2 year deals seem to be the way ahead these days.

A wee testimonial against Everton would be nice.

Do we know anyone with Everton connections?

Happy with this. Lewis played well last year and is a great player to have in the squad.

I think we need competition at left back though. If Callum Crane isn't ready to make the step up yet then we should be looking at signing another left back before the window closes at the end of August IMO.

I'd rather wait to see how much longer he's at Hibs, he could easily do another 5 years. So I think a testimonial should be put on hold until later in his career,.

I thought his first team break through was 2007 anyhow so 2017 would be a good time for his testimonial?

He made his first appearance in the 2005-2006 season, and then properly broke into the team 2006-2007. Possibly the end of next season would be the time to have it?

And by then we'd be a premiership club again as well

I'd expect that Lewis would request his testimonial be against Raith Rovers.

Be interesting to see when he's received all of his contract extensions and who the gaffer at the time was.

Have many not been 1 or 2 years?

Can't be easy having to fight for your future so often instead of being able to relax and play with some peace of mind.

Of course some players take this too far and can rest on their laurels but I'd doubt Lewis is of that mentality.

Was a bit surprised and disappointed by the Hibs fans on Monda Night Fitba in the post playoff defeat episode who pretty much wanted to rebuild the whole team.

Great news for the fans, for Lewis & the Hibees!

Why? If he's gonna request anyone, why not Real Madrid or Barcelona :greengrin. Seriously though, if Dempster or Stubbs said to him, we've got a good chance of getting you fixed up with a game against Everton for your testimonial that Lewis would say, no thanks, I want a game against Raith.

Because he was a Raith fan as a boy. Something higher profile would be nice though.

A team we'll play against again in this league for 4 times in the regular coming season anyway? Would be a bit daft. High profile team please - Everton!
