Does anyone know if we have any plans to celebrate the 140th year anniversary of the club in August? Would be great if we did something

It would be nice if Hibs could combine Lewis stevensons testimonial with this

Serious question. Has any other club ever celebrated a 140 year anniversary?

Get a huge tattoo of a harp on his forehead, that should keep everyone happy for at least 10 years when we can have a proper anniversary party. :agree:

I'm not getting the significance either although I understand there may be something in the offing strip wise.

Rangers celebrated theirs by going bust.

They did in in Hun-style, launching a range of overpriced tat in an effort to find new ways of capturing the blue giro. They did this, without any sense of irony, only a matter of weeks after the club died and thus actually missed its own birthday. View at the time was that it was a somewhat pathetic protest that they had not in fact died, but no-one was really fooled. http://www.rangers.co.uk/shop/140-anniversary-memorabilia

I don't see the point in celebrating this ... we didn't do 110, 120 or 130, so why celebrate 140 years? Lets hope the club give us something to celebrate on the park next season, rather than us going looking for reasons.

I think we created a hall of fame for our 135th anniversary. Would just think it would be a nice gesture and a good way to generate more income if we did something to celebrate the 'birthday' of our club but fair enough lol

I know there's some opposition to this idea but if nothing else, there's going to be a retro top unveiled which I am sure will prove very popular with everyone ....well, everyone who likes wearing tops that is :greengrin

I don't even enjoy competing with that lot. I just wish they didn't exist at all. Gutted we have to play against them again this season while all your Celtics, Aberdeen, etc have enjoyed the last few seasons without them.

I hope not it would just remind me that I've been watching them since before the 100th :greengrin
