Now we know next year`s teams , assuming no last - minute league reconstruction , who will we play at New Year ? Apart from St Mirren v Morton and maybe Dumbarton v Rangers can`t see many obvious derbies . Livi or Raith for us perhaps .Can`t remember where we played in 1999 but remember we played at Berwick in 1981 and I remember being at Pittodrie on New Year`s Day in 80s presumably cause Hearts had been relegated . Whoever we play , hope we have as many festive fixtures as Premiership since a chance for one more big crowd was missed last season and would also have helped finish league earlier to avoid fixture congestion that could have happened if we`d made cup final .

We were at home to Raith Rovers on 2nd January 1999.

Just give us Rangers. Probably be near a full house too of we are doing well up to then.

Just give us Rangers. Probably be near a full house too of we are doing well up to then.Agreed if at ER but an away match with limited tickets for us wouldn`t help and playing home and away over festive period would make financial sense but mean messing fixtures up for rest of teams . For New Year would hope for a full house at Livi or Raith ( not enough tickets for us though ) but a home game against Rangers would mean a good crowd . Home against Morton or Falkirk on Sat 2nd Jan or Sunday 3rd Jan would probably get a big crowd ( 12-15 thousand ) if marketed and priced properly .

Thought our away crowd at Livingston this season for both games (admittedly ***** kick off times) was really poor. Expected to see us take 4k upwards to the game given its proximity/ease of getting there.

So depressing. New Year derbies v Livingston or Raith Rovers or Falkirk.

Not as depressing as potentially Ross County v Hearts

Although I wanted Sevco to be promoted after they beat us last week, there is a bit of me which is slightly relieved that they are still in the same league as us next season, as the four games against them next season will make another season in the Championship slightly more bearable than it might have otherwise been.

The loss of the derby next season, for the first time since 1998-99, will be hard to stomach as "derby" matches against Livingston really won't cut it.

I really hope we go up automatically next season and leave Sevco fighting it out in the play offs again. I don't think I could put up with a third season in the Championship.

Who will Hearts play on New Year? Motherwell? It'll be Mwell/ Hamilton.Aberdeen/Dundee. Stj/Dundee u.Celtic/Partick.Ross/ICT so that leaves Killie for them as the only derbyless teams.

If it ends up, in Leith, I would like to see us limit the away end tickets, whoever we get

Its not gonna be Morton. They'll play ST Mirren.

Its bound to be Dundee v Dundee United

Most Dundee united fans don't even consider Aberdeen rivals. every time that new firm title pops up I can't help but laugh

Aberdeen for years have dreamed of having an actual derby..They better hope Cove Rangers get into L2 and make it to the top flight

I think it's safe to Say it will be Hibs V Rangers at new year.

These three games are most likely through historical rivalry / geography

Morton v St Mirren

Rangers v Dumbarton

Falkirk v Alloa

Due to HFC, LFC && RRFC all being so close together, the other four teams could be arranged in pretty much any order, but here's my guess.

Raith v Hibs

QOS v Livi
