So it's the English Championship play off today with the winner landing an estimated £120m. Crazy stuff.

We do have a little Hibs interest in this. My nephew a huge Hibs fan plays for Boro Under 18s who just won the English Under 18 league seeing off Chelsea, Everton and the Manchester clubs. Daniel played for Hibs up until he was 15 before going to the South of France then Boro.

For Whittaker, Alex Neil and the fact I think they've deserved it more-I'm rooting for Norwich!

Not fussy who wins but a Norwich win would make butcher miserable. Probably a reason worth cheering them on

Butcher would be miserable if Beyonce and Kim Kardashian were playing football in the nude in his back garden unless they were punting it into the corners!

Given that he's just spent a year working on it, too right he'd be bloody miserable if that pair started tearing it up.....

Should our play offs be adjusted to have a game like this at a neutral venue?

YES! I would go further and say all the games should be one offs, would give it a bit more glam.

Some game thus far.

For the scottish playoffs, the championship only has 10 teams so 2nd - 4th is a bit much, 4th is almost mid table. It shouldn't be heavily weighted in favour of the premiership team (notwithstanding the fact we went down).

2 up and down automatically and 3rd top v 3rd bottom 1 game playoff final at Hampden or 1 up and down with 2nd and 3rd and 10th and 11th in same format as England.

I can honestly say never taken any notice of who he was before the Hamilton play offs last year.
Absolutely remarkable story up to now for him and am over the moon for the young man As long as he's no a Jambo or a Hun. :aok:

The ref has apparently decided not to book anyone in the first half. Not a dirty game, but a couple of bad challenges that would usually have attracted a yellow.

Brilliant from the commentator - Bayern's wide players, "Robbery and Ribbon".

I hope he can steer Norwich to the big time !

His reputation will soar massively and everyone will know who he is. IIRC the commentater said his first ever game as a manager was in front of 700 fans at Hamilton, Today it's 90 thousand! Gaun yersel son.

Neutral venue and 100% you'll have to pay to attend games.

Will not be surprised to see Alex Neil in the Premier League. Thought he was a very good manager at Hamilton and reckon he's the real deal. Could be destined for the top with a big club in years to come.

After seeing what Alex Neil has achieved with Norwich maybe we were a bit to hard on Butcher after last seasons relegation play off. Maybe we should go cap in hand and ask Butcher back. I miss his fast free flowing football. :greengrin :cb

I can't see Karanka hanging about there for much longer.

The group of four clubs that had a realistic chance of automatic promotion, going into the last couple of weeks of the season, I would imagine.

Some coincidence that Neil also led Hamilton to a play-off win against Hibs exactly one year ago today.

Sorry for reminding folk about that.

Pretty sure he was the youngest ever manager to win a European trophy as well... Pretty amazing to have the maturity at such a young age to achieve such success, especially when you take into account the wealth and egos of modern day top level footballers. Cant be easy dealing with those kind of pressures, and i dont think he ever played professional football himself..!

Top 3 went up, seems fair enough to me. Good to see the highest placed team in all 3 leagues go up in the play offs, shame it never worked for us.
