I don't really care but can anyone explain to me how Australia's ended up in the Eurovision song contest this year?

Just skimming through the channels and happened to see this on the screen.

'Cause it's in Europe, ya donought??? :greengrin

Apparently they always take Eurovision, probably yet another symptom of their inability to be a real country. I think this is the 50th anniversary, or something, so they have invited them in?

We had half an eye on the contest in Malaga. It's just a trashy camp thing with noise and colour which a lot of folk like over here. Our equivalent would be Strictly I suppose. No harm in it at all. The girl who sang the Spanish entry is David de Gea's bird. Not many people know that, or care for that matter!

For the same reason Lebanon and Tunisia could have competed - as some in those countries wanted - if only, collectively, they could have gotten over their Jew-hating tendencies: because those countries are members of the European Broadcasting Union.

Jordan, Egypt, Libya and Algeria can also participate if they want.

Morocco have participated, in 1980.

Cyprus regularly participate.
