Get active at our summer community football camps! The fun kicks off on Monday 29 June at the Hibernian Training Centre, near Tranent and continues all summer long, with the week-long camps also on offer at Selkirk FC and Meadowbank Stadium. A goalkeeping camp and a ‘girls only camp’, both delivered at the training centre, complete the programme.
Tom Elliott, Head of Community Coaching, and first team player David Gray were on hand to launch the summer camp programme at Wallyford Primary School. Gray says he would encourage all young boys and girls to keep fit and get involved in active programmes, saying the Hibernian Community Foundation camps are ideal, offering fun, fitness and friendship for all. Elliot says he was delighted by the success of the recent Easter camps and now he is all set for a fun packed seven weeks during the summer holidays at the various venues.
And parents/carers and children were also positive about the holiday camps: Dave Harrold commented on son Sorley’s experience: “From the first morning we were very impressed with Tom Elliott, all the coaches were so child-focused and seemed to work out quickly the different personalities. Sorley was greeted by name warmly each morning, and escorted from the drop-off zone to the pitches. He would tell us afterwards each day about Messi flicks, Ronaldo step-overs and all else that went on. The combination of a fantastic football dedicated facility in great surroundings with excellent coaches made this a great and memorable experience for him and credit to the first team players who spent time with the kids signing everything put in front of them and posing for photos.”
