I sent this in to Roughie tonight... think I might have put them on here before... some names in that lot. A young John Collins too.

You're right, though to me it could well have been him nearest the camera. Rice signed for Forest in 85 and Wiki has McCluskey down as being at Hibs from 86 to 89.

Who's nearest the camera then? I don't think it's Jackie Mac, but I can't think of anyone else.

Edit - Iain Munro? :dunno:

From memory Shades tragically died in 1985, so if George signed in 86 then I don't think they're both in the pic? Know. George was the one assaulted by Sourness in his debut for the nit so great unwashed in 86, when everyone except Roughie was involved in the melee.......

I know that players' stays at individual clubs are far more ephemeral these days, but this thread has made me wonder how many of our squad from over the last five seasons we'll be able to name in 30 years time...

I'll still bet that it's McCluskey - given that there might have been a sector where several players trained before moving on.

Looking at the photos reminds me how disappointed I was at the time when they reduced the height of the terracing.

I knew it was sensible to reduce it but I thought they had gone too far, as it suddenly looked tiny in comparison to the season before.

Made a big difference a year or so later when they finally added the roof.

Oh, a work colleague left at half-time, after a horrible first half. He saw the result on the Teleprinter.... in the days where high scores were confirmed by writing the number.

I was there. What I remember most about the game is the uncharacteristic Jackie Mac cock-up that gifted them their goal - he tried to control the ball with the sole of his boot, slid on it and fell over, leaving the Killie scorer a clear run on goal. He made up for it later though with a rare goal, a 30 yard screamer that you could tell was going in the instant it left his foot.

OK 3,993 to go... :greengrin
