Can't argue with that, provided that the prices are the same for away fans.

:agree:

It says in the article that they are.

Fair play to them, as I think it's a decent compromise.

Again, fair play to them but I think this is more about attaining a full house at Ibrox. Even a team full of donkeys can have a Barcelona-esque game if there are +40000 orcs grunting them on!

Won't be £5 if they get past QOS

Doesn't leave them a lot after they have paid HMRC. Oh wait a minute.............................

What I'm intrigued by, is I thought there had been a minimum pricing set of £15 & £10 by the SPFL? If so, are they not still breaching this rule?

But is it set in stone this? I've honestly no idea if it's a rule or what they have suggested! Maybe The Rangers will take the hit for the sake of a full house! If Hibs are charging I hope they do the same and make it a fiver.

Maybe it isn't the case. I thought thats how the Hibs statement read a couple of weeks ago, but on searching google, this was in a Daily Mail report -

Under existing rules, the SPFL are entitled to take 50 per cent of the gate proceeds from the six play-off ties for redistribution among the clubs. But a bid by the league board to force play-off finalists to charge all fans a minimum price of £15 for the play-off ties was withdrawn at a meeting last Thursday.

Radio Clyde confirmed a few nights ago there is no rule regarding the Minimum pricing, at one point they suggested RFC could charge a penny to avoid any sanctions from SPFL

Fiver is brilliant for everyone.

I wonder if we will follow suit!

So Hibs can charge anything as long as they give over the 50% of the gate receipts.

The blurb in the daily record article after the details of the statement from RIFC states that club has to send 50% ot gate receipts after VAT to SPFL.

So if you charge $5 and the costs of staging the game are 70k you need a crowd of 35,000 before you are out of pocket

take in 35,000 x £5 = £175,000 less vat is 140,000 - give 70,000 to SPFL leaves 70,000 to cover costs ?

problem hibs have if they charge a £5 is that their max intake (20k seats sold) would be £100,000 which means you have to give 40,000 to SPFL leaves 40,000 to cover costs which would reduce obvoisuly depending on crowd size - big question is how much does it costs hibs to stage a game as you hav to cover this + 20% VAT + SPFL levy of 50% out of takings at gate ?

You have to take in gate receipts ( i.e. charge) enough to cover giving 20% of gate receipts to taxman + giving 50% of 80% of gate recepits to SPFL + costs to stage game i.e. stewards , police , staff etc

So really you need to make sure 40% of your gate receipts will cover costs or your out of pocket !!

so say we get a gate of 15,000 @ £5 we would have 30K to cover costs ? Suspect if Ibrox game costs are 70K for a 35K crowd we should be ok to charge a 5 spot too !!

It certainly wont cost us £70/80k to stage a game. I'd say less than half that.

I'd be quite happy if hibs made it £10 adults, £5 concessions.

I'm confused. Here's what was in Hibs' statement on the 23rd April -

The Board’s own resolution on minimum pricing, the eligibility of Season Tickets and an allowance for match expenses in respect of Play Off finances was also considered as Resolution 2.

Neither resolution progressed. Resolution 1 failed at the first hurdle when a majority of Premiership Clubs voted against it. Resolution 2 was then withdrawn by the SPFL Board, with the consent of a majority of Clubs present.

So was resolution 2 not even considered to get changed? In which case the minimum pricing is still in place, or does it mean the majority of clubs agreed to withdraw these clauses? in which case, why has there been such a big fuss about ST holders?

Just noticed this is for the QOTS game only. Are they likely to keep the prices the same if they end up playing us?

they'd look a bit daft if they all of a sudden upped their prices after the fuss they've made over it.

If we do meet them we will only be getting our usual 900 tickets so it will only be the UBER fans that will be ripped of by the new club. :greengrin

If we do play them and we only get 900 tickets . They should get the same amount for Easter Road .

Being from the west I had clyde 1 on tonight. They're take on it is rangers are charging a fiver to save money believe it or not.. The spfl have said if clubs let season tickets in for free it will be assumed they would have been paying 15 pound per head so.the clubs would need to stump up this cash to go into the pot to be split. Charging a fiver for everyone means they can't do.this so rangers only need to pay a percentage of everyone's fiver. Seems like a good decision to me

Can't really argue with that to be honest.

It would be good if Hibs could afford to but we would make a loss at £5 per head. Sevco can afford that if a 40k crowd turn up. We couldn't with a 15,000 crowd.
