Citys scorer is a hibby.

Take it it goes to pens if it stays as it is?

It would go to pens yes.

If it goes to pens can we expect the first few Brora ones to be wildly off target?

Would they not have thrown the match in the first 210 minutes if they were so inclined?

Are you sure?

I thought the most Northern team would play in the highland league.

Incorrect. They'll be in the Highland. Why, I have no idea. They'll be financially crippled.

As an Angus man myself I can confirm for you that the only part of Angus in the Highlands is the north east tip. :greengrin

However, from what I've read they will play in the Highland next season. Not sure why, but they will.

They're really almost the most awkward club to find themselves in this situation. They're an hour and a half drive away from any club in the Highland or Lowland League.

Someone has to take Brora's place and Montrose happen to be the most Northern team of the Lowland teams. If Berwick came down it would be Stirling Uni in the highland league.

Other option would be to have an odd number of teams in each league.

Edit: It's a bit like the Conference North & South in England.

The Lowland League is relatively new and adding new teams on an annual basis, so if they were left a number short they'd just add accordingly. I think the Highland League would do the same and either go with an odd number or advertise for new applicants... I doubt they'd make Stirling do the trek. It's different in England when the teams are spread more evenly across the country.

At one stage the old Third Division in England was regionalized.

If two northern teams were relegated from Division Two, then a midland team would have to switch from Third North to Third South.

Just spoken with a friend who lives in Dornoch and supports Brora .
Seems the supporters are already doing their sums re the cost of travelling to Annan etc and are not really for it
Interesting situation evolving methinks !!:greengrin

Why are they bothering with the play offs then? They would've been better letting another team have a go.

If you read the press coverage of the play off set up a few weeks ago you would have noticed the BR's Chairman's concern about the viability of their being in Div 3
The powers that be said it was them or nobody . hence the two games against EC

Difficult decision financially : of that there is no doubt !!
