She is a midfielder too - makes that goalscoring record seem even better. Her fitness is amazing, box to box every game. Deserved last year's balloon d'or imho but was overlooked, not even nominated despite being American league mvp. Vote Kim!!!! Surprised there is no English player on bbc list!

She was the best player in America playing for Seattle. Her and Jess Fishlock make up a cracking middle two. Easily the best home nations player. There are no english players near her level.

Unfortunately, Kim didn't win the award. The winner was announced today as Asisat Oshoala who plays for Liverpool and Nigeria.

On the bright side though, the BBC website is carrying a quiz about the nominees and the Kim question asks which club she started her career with.
