Looking for some advice;
Currently been off work for a couple of days as I couldn't walk without a severe limp. Was ok on Tuesday but woke up on Wednesday unable to put any weight down on my left foot.
I have not knowingly injured myself and apart from a hill walk last week and a Pilates class on Monday, I can't think of any other activities I've done that could be an issue.
Attended minor injuries at the Western General and the guy that saw me advised that it 'could' be Achilles tendinitis. Told to rest and take strong painkillers.
The thing is, pain killers and NSAID's are having zero effect, I'm now crawling about on my hands and knees or hopping about on my good leg as I can't put the heel of my other foot anywhere near the ground!
I've always had fairly tight achilles, coupled with a pronounced Haglunds bump but I've always been fairly active and never encountered this kind of debilitating pain before.
So, do we reckon a good rest will alleviate it or am I possibly looking at a corrective operation on the heel to release the tendon before it ruptures?
I know it's a big ask, looking for medical advice without being physically assessed,,,,just frustrated how I have become housebound overnight and with no alleviated symptoms with the meds.
