Real tough one, struggling to decide which Labour MP I'd most like to see get the chop.

1) Danny Alexander
2) Jim Murphy/Margaret Curran/Douglas Alexander (would be delighted with any of the three, and ecstatic if all 3 got the heave!)
3) Theresa May

Mark Lazarowicz. Labour. Edinburgh North & Leith. He's my MP and has a decent majority over the SNP, only 4th last time out, the Lib Dems were a close 2nd. If he loses his seat it will mean the Labour and Lib Dem vote has collapsed catastrophically which would be well deserved.

Michelle Gildernew. Sinn Fein. Fermanagh & South Tyrone. Won her seat by a mere 4 votes last time out. If she loses her seat it would disprove the argument once and for all that 'my vote doesn't matter'. Alternatively I wouldn't mind her increasing her majority massively as it means people have woken up to the fact they have to vote.

David Jones. Conservative. Clywd West. Ignorant homophobe. Got involved with the party in the mid 70s. Your classic Thatcherite Tory.

[...]

Can I ask why? He's always struck me as a good constituency MP with a good (ie principled) voting record. Not afraid to defy the whip on occasion.

As an SNP man I'm glad I no longer live in ENL, I wouldn't want to have to choose between party and a candidate I quite like.

Nick Clegg (big student vote in Sheffield, not impossible)
Margaret Curran (awful MP, constant liar)*
David Mundell (keeping Scotland Tory-free)

*I was tempted by Murphy but he's become such a liability to Labour that he's welcome to stay. Him and Douglas Alexander remain close runners up though just because of the embarrassment it would cause.

Sheila Gilmore is my MP so I'd like to see her lose her seat. At the last election she had her people coming round knocking on doors asking if we would like to have a visit from her. Last week I opened the door to find her on her own asking if I could give her 5 mins of my time. I actually felt sorry for her as I watched out of my window as everyone refused to speak to her.
Alistair Carmicheal is the most arrogant prick I've ever seen on the TV
Douglas Alexander always strikes me as the typical career politician that I can't stand.

Ed Balls - I have an unhealthy dislike for the guy, can't stand him.

Diane Abbott - Ghastly woman.

All of the above are obviously Labour MPs, which wasn't intentional, but they all really annoy me.

Pretty much only for the reasons Indicated.

If he loses his seat to the SNP candidate it will mean the Labour and Lib Dem vote has totally collapsed in Scotland. It's more what it would stand for, for me personally, than a personal dig at the man.

I remember in 1997 my constituency (then Edinburgh Pentlands) MP at the time was Malcolm Rifkind. He was a very well liked constituency MP. Despite his national prominence he took his local surgery seriously, regularly attended local events and was a strong campaigner on local issues especially those affecting the elderly. He'd held the seat since 1974 and it was about as safe a Conservative seat as you'd find in Scotland. When Rifkind lost that it was like an affirmation that Labour were suddenly electable. Since it's inception in 1950 the Edinburgh Leith/Edinburgh North & Leith has been a safe Labour seat, seeing that go would confirm a real shift in Scottish politics.

I would tend to agree on Lazarowicz in terms of his voting record. Taking that into consideration, whilst remembering the UKPGE is more important than simply punishing Labour for their referendum performance, I am genuinely still undecided as to which party to vote for in May.

However, Lazarowicz was actually at my door about 2 weeks ago asking how I planned to vote. I told him I was undecided, but would be unlikely to vote Labour; he asked why and I gave him 2 or 3 reasons. He then left.

It was almost like he'd simply given up.

What are the bookies odds on that I wonder?

There are suggestions that it was historically the student vote that carried Clegg to Parliament and that he may have lost it. The introduction of IER and the potential absence of students from the electoral registers may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him.

I see he was also continuing the trend of being embarrassingly disrespectful to Nicola Sturgeon today at the LibDem manifesto launch. I wonder if they would take this tact if Salmond's replacement had been a man, or is it fear because Sturgeon appears to be so likeable?

Makes sense. I suppose in one sense "safe" Labour seats in Glasgow/Lanarkshire/Dundeee shouldn't be surprising if the Nats win them. If they can in places like Edinburgh though where No won pretty convincingly then it's arguably more significant in spite of the smaller majorities.

That said I reckon the SNP stand a great chance in ENL, considering the dent the Lib Dems put into Lazarowicz's majority last time. Deirdre Brock will pick up a huge majority of those protest votes.

I'd go as far as to say he's the only remaining Labour politician that I have any respect for and whilst I wouldn't dream of voting for him I don't wish him any harm - quite the opposite. If he were to lose his seat though, it would suggest that the election has gone the way I would have wanted it to….

Actually I don't mind Andy Burnham that much. But that's it.

There's still a chance the Tories could win Dumfries and Galloway. Like most seats in Scotland the SNP were a distant third in 2010 but are now 4 points ahead of the Conservatives. Thankfully, Labour are sitting in third place and it looks almost inevitable that they have lost their majority.

:agree: I'd add Katy Clark (North Ayrshire & Arran) to that very short list of Labour MPs I don't mind. That said I, and plenty others, would respect Burnham a lot more if he had the balls to admit his party was more than complicit in private NHS contracts when in office.

Another one I'd really like to see out on his ear is "John Thurso", Man Of The People and Lib Dem MP for Caithness and Sutherland.

In real life (if Lib Dems inhabit anything resembling real life) he's John Archibald Sinclair, 3rd Viscount Thurso, PC, MP, and he's as big a waste of space as his predecessor, Robert "Which Party Will I Join This Month" McLennan, once of the Labour Party, then of the SDP, then of the Liberals, then of the Liberal Democrats. If he hadn't resigned after Ken Clarke savaged him in the House of Commons one afternoon, McLennan would have been in UKIP or the Monster Raving Loony Party by now.
