Seems a strange one, was an absolute disaster with Serbia and his performance over the last 10 years or so has been sketchy at best.

Advocaat is a great football coach but I'm not sure there is much he can do with a squad which appears to have imploded and half the players appear not to want to be there. He's taken on some absolute nightmare in the last 10years and also had some real success most notably with Zenit but Sunderland is a disaster waiting to happen.
