Me too. I honestly thought he was going to burst into tears! The place went mental when that went in.

Brilliant thanks. I was at the other end for some reason that day.

One of my favourites wasn't shown on telly - Eddie May's header from a Bomber Harris cross to beat celtc 4-3 in the quarter final 1985-86.

Anyone got the highlights for the Aberdeen semi final in 2012? Been searching for them all morning.

Here's 3 of my favourite ties in the 2013 cup run to the final:

Their was a strike so there is little coverage from that time. I have seen footage of the goals from the 4-3 game as there was a camera on the bit on top of the old tunnel. No commentary. Does anyone have a copy? The one I saw was on a VHS compilation of Hibs stuff which preceded the days of DVD! First time I saw the 0-7 game and lots of other stuff on it.

There used to be VHS tapes of the full match doing the rounds. At the end you can see white hankies go up in the old enclosure summoning the first aid guys. My pal had broke his ankle celebrating Eddie May's winner.

Great day. I think Jock Stein left the following week and the rest is history. I am certain if he had stayed to the end of the season we would have won the cup. We were still in with a chance of the title and were the best team left in the semi's.

It's the 4-3 against Celtic in 85/86 for me, just for the sheer drama. A mental last 15 mins. Thought I was going to implode when Celtic were awarded that late penalty. Never in doubt though!

Likewise the Killie 5-1 is my all time favourite game, but the Kilimarnock away game in the quarters and the Falkirk semi make up the rest of the top three in my all time list. Which makes it all the more gutting from my personal point of view not to have been to any of the cup games this season when I went to every round on both of our last Scottish Cup final appearances. Not missing through choice I might add!

One of the things I still remember about the Falkirk semi. One of our group was flying to Tenerife. He'd stupidly booked a holiday without checking the cup dates.
When he took off we were 3-0 down. I took a photo of the sky sports app at the final whistle, to prove that we'd won.
When he switched on his phone when he landed, he said he stood up and screamed?

I put that on DVD about 10 years so there's a few copies floating about. I'll try and look it out, from memory the quality at the start is rubbish but is reasonable as the match goes on.

Watched that game in a wee bar in a small town outside Barcelona , there was me and one Celtic supporter , the place was full of huns.
Their sour pusses at the end will live long in the memory. I managed to ' curb my enthusiasm ' when De Boer lamped it over the bar and beat a hasty retreat. Allez les Vertes Originales !!

No one ever believes me when I say I actually have a lot of fond memories of the Scottish Cup.

One of my earliest is a 2-0 win over Motherwell in the early, maybe mid, 90s. We were winning comfortably on the park as a running battle was taking place on the old away terrace at the Dunbar end.

A 4-0 win away to Stenhousemuir were we had to enter a ballot for tickets is another, think those who missed out got the chance to watch a beam back at Murrayfield ice rink.

There's obvious ones like 0-3 v Rangers, 1-0 v Hearts, 2-4 v Killie, 4-3 v Falkirk, 2-1 v Aberdeen.

Some of the away days have been great. Half freezing to death in a 3-2 win at Cowdenbeath. I remember a replay at Cappielow against someone who weren't Morton (Clydebank maybe) that we won 3-0. Sure I vaguely remember beating Clydebank 5-1 in the Scottish in the very early 90s as well away at Kilbowie, probably one of my first away games.

Cup games are totally different from the league, there's a buzz you don't always get from week to week. Here's to getting the job done tomorrow and preparing for another Hampden trip.

Missed the goal because I couldn't find Hampden (pre sat nav days) and then struggled to find a parking place, so didn't get in until half time. Vague memory of being stuck at the back of the terracing with all the second half play being at the far end as Huns RIP looked for an equaliser.

Arrived in plenty of time for the final though :greengrin

I was thinking about McManus' last minute winner yesterday - was a great day out at Killie and IIRC we didn't have a great record home or away v them around that time, so whilst we would have been happy to take them back to ER, it still would have been tricky.

Went mental when Tam scored, great header too IIRC.

We were under the cosh that day, think Sauzee went off early, and Mixu was playing left midfield. Is there any YouTube footage of this goal?

When we got to the final, poor Tam didn't even get in the squad
