Just seen that Leonard Nimoy has sadly died at the age of 83.
He had been quite ill of late with a chronic pulmonary disease.
I wasn't around when he first appeared on the screen as Mr Spock but I was a huge Star Trek fan as a young kid and was delighted to see him in the remakes.
A very sad loss indeed!

Not a huge Star Trek fan but his guest appearances on The Simpsons and Futurama were absolutely superb.
Sad news.

I'm a massive Star Trek fan and Leonard Nimoy is Star Trek royalty. He had a difficult relationship with the character of Spock, but he, more than even Shatner, helped form Gene Roddenberry's vision in people's minds when the original series was shown.
I read on Monday that he was ill and didn't think much of it; I'm actually surprised how gutted I am about this. However, ultimately, he lived until he was 83 and people will know his work for generations to come.
Thanks for the memories Leonard. #LLAP

Without knowing this I watched an episode of columbo last night and he turned up in the role of the bad guy. Very strange (well it isnt but it seems as if it is).
