BBC News - Longannet power station may close in a year
It's OK though, if we need 'leccy we can import it from England.
This almost feels like the UK government is driving out competition?

People should keep in the back of their minds when reading these stories that there has always been a ton of spin from all parties when it comes to transmission charges. While people may not like the results of cost reflective transmission charges, there is a good justification for having them.

I know, it's due to the distances etc, I'm probably being cynical but if the station does close, and the power needs to flow the other direction instead, will the power stations down south have their transmission charges increased pro rata?
