An article and video of the sports science set up at Liverpool. Be interesting to see how our obviously smaller set up compares?

Now this statement is going to upset a lorra .net folks ...

"Successful short passing frequency of defenders differentiates between top and bottom four English Premier League teams"

Does Sports Science incorporate psychology? Maybe our support should enroll (only half-joking)

It seems that Craig Flannigan, our head of Sport science, is rated as one of the top in the country. He was freelance up until the summer, working for PFA Scotland and doing a lot of pre-seasons for clubs. Hibs worked hard to get him on board.

Here is an article from December with some info on his approach - http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-players-dining-out-on-food-science-and-nutrition-1-3630149

Real Madrid were doing that in the 1950's.

Ajax were doing it in the 60's and 70's.

Barca have been doing that for years, as have the top Bundesliga teams.

It's called football, and it isn't rocket science.

It's how good teams play.

But there is no instrument invented that can measure the capacity of certain "football fans" for wilful ignorance of the game they claim to follow.

And we have more than our fair share of those in Scotland.
