Are they planning a similar model to Hibs. I recall George Craig saying that Hibs management structure is pretty radical for a UK team.

Olympic Lyon in France were the original club to pioneer this set up. They went from provincial nobodys to French champs 7 years out of 8 I think. The story is worth reading about.
Like us, they decided that player recruitment was too important to leave to the head coach.

What was interesting was how successful their set up was, and how the likes of Le Guen really struggled after leaving it.

Looking at Southampton's progress, it's ideal if replicable; managers and players become a lot more replaceable than traditionally it seems...

Probably not a coincidence that their form has dipped slightly since rumours of his exit first surfaced.

It's similar, Kirsty Gallagher supports Hibs so Natalie Sawyer supports Brentford :wink:

Warburton was their Sporting Director with Uwe Rosler as Head Coach.
Warburton was a City Trader after a career in mainly non league football and decided to get back into football through some youth tournament he set up, think he went around studying various European setups and ended up at Brentford, i think, as youth coach before working up to Sporting Director. Rosler goes to Wigan and he moves to Head Coach, not sure if they currently have a SD?
Peculiar situation but apparently Chairman wanted to spend circa £20m on new players in Jan window to make a push for promotion but Warburton wasnt keen and wanted to keep faith with his (small) squad. Has blown up in there faces by the look of it whoever is to blame.
Spent something like £70-£90m recently so big push being made for the big-time. They are building a new stadium so quite a lot of their spend has been on land and development costs but still big money.

intersting article here with regards to Brentford and the changing models that clubs are implementing. It may be nothing new but if Hibs follow similar success stories then we will finally be going in the right direction.

Just good that we appear to have a plan nowadays compared with the drift that went before.
