Just got up to watch some of the England game. Aus starting to throw the bat at it and currently at 139-3.

NZ look to be winning the first game.

Well hammered in the end, but felt a wee bit sorry for Taylor after the farcical run out which ended the innings. He knew it was a dead ball but took it pretty well considering he'd probably just been robbed of his first one day hundred.

That was utterly bizarre.

4 first ball ducks then a decent middle order partnership then New Zealand playing like it was a 20/20 game.

NZ were just trying to get their run rate up.

They were always gonna reach the total required, but the higher run rate, the better.

Yep 5 out on a duck but great batting in the middle order from Matcham & Berrington? Scotland's bowling attack then started well. That's when I fell asleep:faint: The game against England will be interesting!

Well well well, NZ gave England more of a hammering than Scotland today! Remarkable stuff.

That was some collapse from 104-4 to 123 all out!

India's bowling is dominating South Africa early doors here. They've not been able to muster up much of a batting response yet either and have a fairly hefty target to reach!

Despite how bad they were against New Zealand, I fancy England will beat us tonight :agree:

South Africa are hanging in well (129-3 after 26.4) but they're struggling to find many boundaries thus far.

Sylar
22-02-2015, 10:49 AM
Their struggles cost them as India end up winning by 130 runs!

Bit of a hammering really.

I see Pakistan managed to set the inglorious record of making 1-4 against the Windies the other day...they will not be happy with that back home.

England off to a solid, if unspectacular, start against Scotland - the Scots containing them in the first few overs without taking any wickets.

England won by 119 runs, oh well!

Scotland never had any chance of beating England so no surprise at all they got hammered. If Scotland could find a decent pace bowler to compliment the medium pace guys in the team they would far more of a threat. Right now, it's all too much the same.

Thrown away.

Should have won that. Sounded like the Afghans kept their bottle better than we did.

Bad tactical blunder for Haq to come round the wicket in his last over was crucial. Then it was just a case of who remained calmest.

The old adage of catches win matches proved again too.

Anyone spotted what De Villiers has been up to?

Fastest ODI 50 - 16 balls -and fastest 150 - 64 balls. Ended up 162 no from 66 balls.

Holder, the WI captain, ended up going for more than 10 an over. His last 2 overs (that's only 12 balls, guys) went for 64.

Unless I'm mistaken, De Villiers now holds the records for the fastest ever 50, 100, and 150 in ODIs.

Not embarrassing, Afghanistan are ranked above scotland and have an excellent bowling attack. Probably two evenly matched teams which was reflected in the result. Scotland will be bitterly disappointed just as the afghans would have been had scotland won.

One more chance for Scotland to get a world cup win against Bangladesh on Wednesday (we've beaten them in a t20i before), I can't see much hope against Sri lanka or australia though!

Decent start for Engerland here at 38-0 after 4 overs. One of them is going to be caught soon though as they're not going to get away with hitting it they way they are for long.

You would think.........

England on the verge of going out, 95 needed off the last 10 overs with only 4 wickets in hand. Not a chance

No sympathy whatsoever for England to be honest. Like their football team, the media think they have a right to win games against anyone they play.

After the defeat to NZ, they were talking about the latter stages of the tournament and saying that they'd need to get the finger out for when they get to the knock-out stages. I think it was Botham who said; "hang on a minute, we need to get there first".

It'll be interesting to see the review show tonight. I see Boycott has already slaughtered them and suspect Botham and Gower will do likewise. Jonathan Agnew defending them on twitter, but seen very little else so far.

A complete overhaul of the English game is needed. They're too predictable and easy to play against. They don't mix it up, they play ODI's like test matches. Bell is the prime example of that. Cracking cricketer, but too boring, slow and scared to give his wicket away.

I used to love cricket back in the 60s/70s. One of the features of the game since then has been the rise in importance of the one day game. It used to be a bit of a novelty for folk who didn't have the time for the real thing. Now I hear Boycott calling for heads to roll! Changed days indeed.

Australia set 184 to win . NZ get Finch out early. Won't say game on yet though. Australia's to lose and that's very unlikely.
