This statement was prepared last week and is the one that should've been released.
The Trustees of the Hibernian Supporters Association (HSA) are pleased to give their backing to the share issue recently launched by Hibernian Football Club.
HSA will look to increase their existing shareholding in Hibernian Football Club and the Trustees look forward to working with representatives of the football club and other relevant parties to ensure the current initiative builds the foundations needed to return Hibs to their rightful place in Scottish football, with the fans at the centre of that success.
A spokesperson for the HSA said:
"As Hibs fans we all want to see success return to Easter Road. The current share issue, along with the football progress being made under Alan Stubbs and George Craig, offers a brighter future for Hibs.
"Having met with representatives of 13 affiliated branches this week, it's obvious that there is a real desire for all fans to move forward together.
We're delighted that HSA can play a role in this by supporting the current share issue and by looking to increase the Association's existing shareholding in Hibernian Football Club."
The Trustees will now look to work with Hibs to ensure that any remaining questions around the share issue from HSA members are answered in a suitable forum.
The Trustees would encourage all HSA members to continue to show their support for the football club and hope that the members will look to back the current initiative in the way that best suits their individual circumstances.
