Well if he's an improvement on Craig or Robertson...............

TBH it's a definite no from me, age 31, total appearances since 1999 225, averageing around 15 games per season and not really been outstanding wherever he's been, lets hope it's just helping out a mate.

Who are both of contract this summer IIRC?

MAybe a case of planning ahead - proactive rather than reactive.

SC Freiburg, about a decade ago. I've never seen him play but he certainly has had a number of spells at decent levels.

I like Robertson would keep him, but if AS wants him to replace Craig would not complain :greengrin

Id be happy to be proved wrong (if its any more than just training with us), but I dont think hes really the standard we should be looking at.

From The Herald's match preview (http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/stubbs-were-favourites-at-ibrox-but-we-cant-take-rangers-lightly.118313531?utm_source=www.heraldscotland.co m&utm_medium=RSS%20Feed&utm_campaign=Scottish%20Sports%20News) yesterday:

Meanwhile, former Celtic, Dundee United and Ross County midfielder Mark Fotheringham is currently training at the club following his release by English Championship side Fulham. The 31-year-old is a former teammate of Stubbs at Parkhead, however he is not considering a move for the free agent. "Fozzy [Fotheringham] was a young lad at Celtic when I was there and we are just offering him some training facilities at the moment," Stubbs added. "We are pretty good shape everywhere at this time, the squad is very healthy."

Hope Hibs are charging him for using the facilities at EM.

I'm not sure he is training with a view to winning a deal right now.

If McGeouch and Fyvie don't sign up for next season and Robertson and Craig don't get new contracts then we will need midfielders PDQ.

Seemingly just getting a wee bit use of the training facilities as Stubbs is mates from Celtic days.

I don't believe that to be honest J-C.

AS is quoted as saying for the moment.

He will be running the rule over him in case he needs him in the future.

He has been playing in full scale matches (and well I may add), you don't simply do that as a wee favour to an ex team mate.

Fair enough, only going by what was quoted by AS in the press.

As far as I heard an hour or so ago from a current Hibs player it iis simply " helping him keep fit while he looks for a club "
Sounds reasonable

I remember the same being churned out with Mixu Paatelainen and Kevin Thomson.

They both ended up signing again.
