Saw this on social media this evening. Utterly bizarre. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/live-new-york-city-fc-8611821

Any suggestions for the strangest Hibs friendly you've been at or come across? Our ones against Man Utd and Celtc because of our then rare undersoil heating spring to mind.

Trinidad and Tobago, early 2000's with the "porn-star" scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory if I remember correctly?

Hibs v Swansea (midweek in the Winter, early 80's?)

Hibs v San Hose Earthquakes (early 80's?)

Hibs v D Moscow (80's)

Best one was the 6-3 ('Benny') win over Celtic (another hastily arranged under soil heating friendly fixture)

Was the Swansea game not a Friday night before a scotland v Wales rugby match?

They were confused when the minibus turned up with "Saint Mirren FC" on the windscreen.

They thought they were playing Southampton

We played Motherwell and Inverness Thistle as well, around the time we first had the under soil heating 😳

Crystal Palace [0] Hibs [1] Macleod. Arranged late in the day in Feb 1978, due to weather in the North wiping out games up there. I never found out until lunchtime on the day in question and only arrived just in time to see Hibs score just before half-time [how hibsnet and the web have changed everything].

Reading the Hibs v Aberdeen Scottish Cup prog from 11 March 1967. Hibs announced the pre season tour for the following season, this included matches v Cerro in New York; ADO in San Francisco; Bangu in Houston; Cagliari; and a match on 9 July v FC America; Stoke in Cleveland; Sundetland in Vancouver; and Dundee Utd in Dallas.

Took a minute for me to realise that St Mirren hadn't randomly travelled to New York City midweek!!!

The guys tache in the photo on the "Match Report" bit is extraordinary. Makes me think he should be carrying a guitar case around the Wild Wild West called Don Juan or similar.

The Dynamo Moscow game as mentioned above must be up there, Friday night...won 3-2 IIRC...truly bizarre.

Just remembered we also played Feyenoord on a Friday night mid 80's as well, Johnny Rep scored for them

Did we not play a Tel Aviv team back in the 80s? Can't remember where it was played, not at ER though.

Was quite fancying going to that game last night if Bolton weren't at home.

The oddest friendly I've ever been to was undoubtedly the Yams v Dinamo Bucharest at Leigh. Got free tickets and got to laugh at them being pumped 5-1. What was it about clubs dying again? They played a random Romanian team at Leigh again last summer but were relegated to an amateur rugby ground at the side of the main stadium because Leigh RL were at home - I think to the rugby but somehow still managed to bump in to Craig Levein and Steven Pressley. I was very friendly and welcoming to them. Honest.
