I find it very difficult to take him seriously.

Does he still believe that disabled people are paying the price for sins in a previous life?

He disappeared off our screens for quite a while after that ridiculous comment. Obviously it's now deemed appropriate for him to be back in the limelight. Not a fan either.

I like this little paragraph about his spiritualist mentor Eileen Drewery - the Fowler bit makes me laugh

"The faith healer has been dealing with ever higher profile cases. QPR's Danny Maddix experiences a "miracle".

Middlesbrough star Paul Merson hails Mrs Drewery as a key figure in his fight against booze and drugs - and Gazza is a regular caller at her Wokingham home.

Later, Ian Wright and Darren Anderton are both to seek her help in their attempts to make the England squad.

Robbie Fowler, however, is less impressed. He said he spent his visit to the spiritualist watching telly with her husband."

Looks like he's been sat on a beach drinking the local moonshine for the past decade or so.

Stupid ******** of a man.

TBF, him calling Algeria 'Al-Jazeera' live on ITV was one of my highlights of the World Cup.

This. He was one of the best English players I've ever seen, real quality. But his hurtful and offensive remarks make any ability he had totally irrelevant IMO.

So? It's not like society has, in those 17 years, proven him to be incorrect. It was a complete nonsense fuddish thing to say. The guy is a walloper.

It's hilarious that he is still held in such admiration by the meeja. I have never seen a programme on which he has featured as a pundit when he hasn't been 100% wrong about the game on show. He's still quoted for vacant managerial positions too.

Somebody up there must like him!
