This was posted on the Max Todd, Gardener and Mulhall thread this morning. By Lurkio; ooh err missus, for Frankie Howerd fans.

Captained Scotland 16s a couple of years back and was a U20 central midfield regular last year at 16. Very surprised to hear he's been released, thought he was one of their top prospects and has an outstanding attitude.

Probably buckled under the expectations of playing for 'The Famous'.

New Development squad signing Aaron Scott, 17, has been handed a starting spot for #Hibs (https://twitter.com/hashtag/Hibs?src=hash) tonight against former club #Hearts (https://twitter.com/hashtag/Hearts?src=hash) at Ainslie Park

Released because he couldn't kick the ball or opponents hard enough. Leveins decision cos he likes this sort of football!

Last season the Yams were all about playing their youth. This season Potter has brought in experienced midfield players on longish contracts. The Yams have also told Holt and Robinson that they can leave so obviously the midfield quota is full.

Aaron played alongside my son at Hutchie 97s. He was a very promising standout midfielder for his age group and made it into the Scotland U16 squad. Since then his progress has stagnated a bit, hopefully moving to Hibs will give it a kick start.

Nothing to lose if our scouting team think we can benefit. Hopefully more of a Jason Cummings signing than a Fraser Mullen from them!

If that lot keep giving away decent young players to keep midfield thugs then it'll all come tumbling down for them.

If he has just signed and had no time to pick up on our style and philosophy, then even greater credit to him. Thought he faded a bit in the last quarter but won the ball well and spread the passes the same way as his teammates. Obviously a real footballer, hence being freed by them!

Saw Aaron at the game on Saturday and was a bit surprised as it was the first i was aware of this, talented lad, alwasy has been and comes from a real nice family. Hopefully he kicks on again and we see him make an impact. Big challenge for him though

Any particular reason that he didn't make it at Hearts?

Had this discussion with a mate just last night, they're thriving in this league with that kind of fitba, but they won't get away with it in the premiership. Think I've said before that we are better equipped for the premiership than they are and I stand by that . Hopefully the lad progresses well in a proper football team :greengrin

I'm not sure Billy, i never got the chance to speak to him but all that aside there's no doubt he's got ability. Ill do some digging and see what i can find out. Had a tough couple of years with the death of his brother however, whether that had an impact i'm unsure.

Good player though, great attitude and thats half the battle.

Bit like Holt.... Plays to much football for Potter's liking. :greengrin
